The Splash

The Splash

Dangling my legs in the blue water, I watch the euphoric kids play in the pool. Casually peering at my surroundings, I try to avoid the imminent danger. Cautiously getting behind the concrete wall around the pool, I was a soldier peeping above the rim of my trench, spying for the threats of any danger. The sound of splashing edged closer and closer to me.

SPLASH! Shrieking as loud as a trumpet, my hair was a sponge that soaked up all of the water in the pool water. Looking around for the culprit, it was so absurd, because there was no one obvious near me! My mendacious brother was my first suspect.

Demanding a soft towel, I waited patiently. Eavesdropping at my brothers conversations, I heard my brother giggling with his friends. Inquisitively asking myself questions to distract myself, while I get restless waiting for my towel.

Scrambling under my towel for warmth, I let out a sigh of relief. The smell of something damp tickles my nose… I feel my hair, and I was saturated in water. AGAIN! I glare at my brother, he protests that  he committed the crime.

Fun Fact!: I sent this writing to a book making company called "Toitoi", and they are amazing and have great feedback. Hopefully my story will get published into their next journal!
